The Science

Shroomwell Shiitake Extract is a food supplement presented as a Shiitake Water and Alcohol Extract.

It contains a Shiitake extract at 75%, with the remaining ingredients being water and ethanol. This product undergoes a dual water and alcohol extraction process.

Shiitake mushrooms are valued for their rich content of bioactive compounds, including lentinan and eritadenine. These naturally occurring substances are associated with supporting immune system function and promoting cardiovascular health.

Through their potential to modulate immune responses and help maintain healthy cholesterol levels, Shiitake extracts may contribute to overall well-being and vitality.

How to Use

For adults, the serving size is 2 ml (3 pipettes) once per day.

The best way to take it is to drop the tincture directly from the pipette under the tongue, but it can also be added to coffee, tea, or smoothies.

Be sure to avoid contact with your eyes and shake well before using. This Shiitake extract is made from water and alcohol extracts of the Shiitake fruiting body.

The maximum recommended daily dose for adults is 2 ml, which is equivalent to 3 pipettes, containing 1.9 ml of shiitake extract, providing 518 mg of shiitake.

Mushrooms

Produced in Europe’s Leading Mycotechnology Lab

At Shroomwell, all our functional mushroom products are cultivated and extracted in-house — in the largest indoor mushroom facility in Northern Europe, located in Tõrva, Estonia.

Our proprietary ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) method preserves and concentrates bioactive compounds like beta-glucans and triterpenes for maximum effect.

Combined with wild-growing farms across Estonia, Sweden, and the USA, our mushrooms are exposed to harsh Nordic conditions that naturally enhance their potency.

Every capsule and bottle is a result of controlled, clean, and science-backed production — no outsourcing, no shortcuts.

About Shroomwell

Shroomwell is a science-driven company from Estonia that pioneers functional mushroom products for health and environmental innovation.

We grow mushrooms both outdoors — across 700 hectares in Estonia, Sweden, and the USA — and indoors in the largest controlled facility in Northern Europe.

Our team merges ancient fungal wisdom with cutting-edge extraction technology to ensure maximum bioavailability and purity. Beyond supplements, we use mycotechnology to support biodiversity, carbon capture, and sustainable forest management.

Formerly known as Chaga Health, we’ve evolved into Shroomwell — building a future where fungi help both people and the planet thrive.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Shiitake?
Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) is an edible mushroom native to East Asia, known for its rich, umami flavor and wide use in both traditional medicine and modern cuisine. It has been valued for centuries not only as a culinary staple but also for its potential health benefits.
What is Shiitake good for?
Shiitake is known for supporting immune health, promoting heart health, and enhancing overall vitality. Its bioactive compounds may help reduce inflammation, support circulation, and boost the body's natural defenses—making it a popular choice for both wellness and everyday energy.
What are the key active compounds in Shiitake Mushroom?
Shiitake contains several beneficial compounds, including lentinan (a beta-glucan with immune-modulating properties), eritadenine (linked to cholesterol-lowering effects), and other polysaccharides that contribute to its potential antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.
Can Shiitake Mushroom improve immune function?
Yes, Shiitake mushrooms are rich in beta-glucans and lentinan, which are believed to enhance immune response. These compounds may help the body better fight infections and maintain immune balance, although individual responses can vary and more human studies are needed.
What is the best way to consume Shiitake Mushroom?
Shiitake can be enjoyed fresh, dried, or as a supplement (capsule, extract, or powder). Fresh or dried mushrooms are excellent in soups, stir-fries, or broths, while supplements are a convenient option for those looking for concentrated wellness benefits.
What's the recommended dosage for Shiitake Mushroom supplements?
Dosage depends on the product type and concentration. Typically, extracts are more potent than powders, so it's best to follow the product label or consult a healthcare professional—especially to avoid possible side effects from overuse.
Can Shiitake Mushroom be used in cooking?
Absolutely. Shiitake mushrooms are widely used in cooking for their deep, savory taste. They can be sautéed, grilled, or added to a variety of dishes. Cooking also neutralizes compounds that can cause skin irritation (known as Shiitake dermatitis), so they should not be eaten raw.
How long does it take to feel the effects of Shiitake Mushroom?
This varies by individual. Some may notice increased energy or immune support within a few weeks of consistent use, while others might require longer. Long-term benefits like improved heart health or immunity are best evaluated over sustained, regular intake.
What are the Shroomwell tinctures made from?
Shroomwell offers tinctures made from Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) fruiting body, Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus) fruiting body, Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) fruiting body, Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) fruiting body, and Cordyceps (Cordyceps sinensis) mycelium.
